Learning library: An Overview of the Course Library and Search in Learning Portal

Introduction

The Course Library and Search features allow students to easily explore available learning content on the KnowledgeCity portal. Whether you are browsing available portal courses or looking for specific topics, this functionality helps you find and access the training materials you need efficiently.

Requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have:
✅ An active user account on the KnowledgeCity portal
✅ An active license (for full access to courses)
✅ Internet access and a supported browser

Steps to Follow

Accessing the Learning Portal

When a student access the Portal, as an unauthorized user, you can view the “Learning Library”, “Quick and Support” pages, but cannot view or save individual courses.

When logged in as an authorized user, the full portal layout becomes available.

Learning Library

The Learning Portal allows to access or browse courses through Categories under Learning Library. Primarily, there are 5 categories, Business, Technology, Compliance, Safety, and Finance. Once a user click on a category, it takes to the page enlisted all the related courses of the category, or it also gives a list of all sub categories. Moreover, it also have section related to Certification Programs that includes Project Management Institute (PMI®), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®), HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®), and International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®). These programs have collection of all the courses required to clear these certifications saving a user from hassle for searching individual courses.

Search Bar

The search bar allows users to find courses by entering a course name or course ID. Similar to standard quick search functionality, users can type a keyword to view a list of matching courses. The results are displayed on a Search Results Detail page, where users can further refine their search using filters and sorting options available in the left panel to further refine search results.

My Assignments and My Learning

My assignment tab allows user to have quick access to all the assigned course or learning path. While, My learning gives a user a comprehensive overview of the progress through Leaderboards or Points.

Changing Portal Language

On the top right corner, there is a Globe icon which allows a user to change the Language.

Accessing User Menu

In Learning Portal, the User Menu (Top Right) gives you quick links to Account Settings, Calendar, My Progress, My Saved Lists, and Sign Out. If a student account is linked to an admin, it will also give an “LMS Admin Login” option.

Managing Cookies

  1. When the Cookies Banner appears, you can:

    • Click Learn More to read the Cookies Policy.

    • Click Got It to accept the cookies and close the banner.

  2. Once accepted, the banner disappears and your preference is saved.

Expected Result

After following these steps, you’ll be able to:

  • Browse and search for courses efficiently.

  • Change the portal’s display language.

  • Access your account settings or log out.

  • Accept cookies for a personalized experience.
