Learn how to access your portal account by signing in with your credentials, requesting access, or recovering your username or password.
Introduction
Access to the KnowledgeCity Portal allows students to explore available courses and continue their learning journey. Depending on the portal’s configuration, users can sign in directly, request access, or recover their credentials if needed.
Requirements
✅ An active user account or valid access credentials
✅ Access to the designated portal URL
✅ The access request feature must be enabled (if requesting access)
Steps to Follow
Step 1: Access the Portal Index Page (Unauthorized User)
Go to your portal’s homepage.
Locate the Sign In buttons in the top-right corner and click it. It will open a window with Sign in option and Request Access
If access requests are disabled, the Request Access button will not be visible.
Step 2: Sign In to Your Account (Existing / new users)
On the Sign In page, enter your Username and Password.
The Sign In button will remain disabled until both fields are filled.
Click Sign In to continue.
Use the following links if needed:
Forgot Username → Opens the Username Recovery page.
Forgot Password → Opens the Password Recovery page.
If supported, other authorization methods (e.g., SSO) will appear below the form.
Tip: Click the portal logo anytime to return to the homepage (if the portal isn’t restricted).
Step 3: Complete First Login Setup
If signing in for the first time, a First Login modal will appear.
Fill in all required fields (Username and Password )and click Save Information.
This modal cannot be closed until all required inputs are completed.
After saving, you’ll be redirected to your Portal Index or My Learning page.
Step 4: Recover Your Username
Go to the Username Recovery page.
Choose one of the available recovery methods (e.g., via email).
Enter the required information.
Click Forgot Username.
A confirmation message will display with recovery instructions.
Use Ok, take me back to homepage to return to the portal (if unrestricted).
Step 5: Recover Your Password
Go to the Password Recovery page.
Enter your Username.
Click Forgot Password.
A message will display with password reset instructions.
Use Ok, take me back to homepage to return (if unrestricted).
Step 6: Portal Index (Authorized User)
After a successful sign-in, you’ll see the My Learning section in place of the Sign In and Request Access buttons.
A User Menu icon appears in the header.
Click it and select Sign Out to log out of your account.
Expected Result
After completing the steps, you will be successfully signed in to your portal and redirected to the My Learning or Portal Index page. Authorized users can access their personal learning content and manage their profiles.
