A step-by-step guide to configuring the Leaderboard Settings tab in KnowledgeCity LMS, including visibility options, group selection, points reset, and reset history tracking.
Introduction
The Leaderboard Settings tab is the fifth and final configuration section within Account Settings. This is where you control gamification visibility and point management for your learning portal. The leaderboard on the My Learning page displays students' progress, points, and rankings compared to their peers, motivating them to strive for better results. Proper configuration here ensures healthy competition while respecting privacy preferences and maintaining accurate tracking of point adjustments.
Steps to Follow
Accessing the Leaderboard Settings Tab
This guide covers the core configuration options available under Leaderboard Settings. Once you have familiarized yourself with the Account Settings section (as covered in: Understanding and Navigating Your Account Settings in KnowledgeCity LMS & Understanding and Navigating the Leaderboard in Learning Portal), you can now proceed with configuring your leaderboard preferences.
Follow the steps below to access the Leaderboard Settings tab:
Log in to your KnowledgeCity LMS as a Super Admin.
Locate the Settings dropdown menu on the top panel of the LMS interface and select Account Settings.
Click on the Leaderboard Settings tab to access the configuration options covered in this guide.
The Leaderboard Settings page is organized into three key sections: Leaderboard Visibility for determining who can see rankings, Reset points for managing point recalculation, and Points Reset History for tracking all reset activities.
Configuring Leaderboard Visibility
The visibility setting determines which users can see the leaderboard and how rankings are displayed.
Under the Leaderboard visibility section, click the dropdown menu and select one of the following options:
Hidden: Leaderboard is not visible to any users
Org-wide & My groups: Users can see both organization-wide rankings and their specific group rankings
My groups only: Users can only see rankings within their own groups
Selected groups only: Only users in specifically selected groups can view the leaderboard
Selected groups + Org-wide: Selected groups can view both their group rankings and organization-wide rankings
Configure Selected Groups
If you choose Selected groups only or Selected groups + Org-wide, the Select groups button becomes available:
Click the Select groups button to open the group selection popup window
Select the desired employee groups from the existing group list
Click Add and Save to confirm your selections
Resetting Leaderboard Points
The reset points feature allows you to recalculate the leaderboard by resetting all points to zero.
Under the Reset points section, click the Reset points button to initiate a point reset.
A confirmation popup will appear asking you to verify this action before proceeding.
Viewing Points Reset History
The Points Reset History table provides a detailed log of all point resets performed in your LMS.
Under the Points Reset History section, you can view and filter the reset log using the following controls:
Filter Options:
Search by user groups: Enter or select specific user groups to filter the history
From - To: Use the date picker to select a date range and filter resets within a specific period
