Steps to Follow
Accessing Featured Courses
Log in to your KnowledgeCity LMS as an administrator.
On the left side panel, locate and click on Category Manager.
From the menu list, select Featured Courses to open the featured courses details page.
The Featured Courses details page provides you with comprehensive control over which courses appear as featured content within the learning portal home page.
Course Selection Dropdown
Located at the top of the Featured Courses page, the Course Selection dropdown allows you to search and add courses to your featured list.
How to Add Course(s):
Click on the dropdown field to expand the course list.
Begin typing to search for courses by Course Name or Course ID - the list automatically filters as you type.
Select one or multiple courses from the search results by clicking on them.
Selected courses are immediately added to the featured list below.
The dropdown supports multi-course selection, enabling you to add several courses at once without repeating the process. This is particularly useful when initially populating a featured list or making bulk updates to a category.
Featured Courses List: Controls and Overview
Once courses are added, they populate a table displaying Course ID and Course Name for easy identification. Each entry includes the following management controls:
Actions Menu: Provides access to additional course-specific settings and options.
Drag and Drop: Click and hold the drag handle to reorder courses. The sequence determines their display order in the portal's course featured list.
Remove Button: Instantly deletes an individual course from the featured list.
For efficient list management, checkboxes are located next to each course. Select multiple courses and use the Bulk Removal option to delete several entries simultaneously ideal for clearing outdated content or restructuring featured selections.
Publishing Your Changes
All modifications to featured courses require explicit saving before they become visible to learners.
Publish to Portal Button - Located at the bottom of the page, this button saves all pending changes and immediately updates the live portal view.
Click Publish to Portal whenever you:
Add new courses to the featured list
Remove existing courses
Change the display order
Make any other modifications to featured selections
